Monday Evening Bible Study

Sermon on the Mount by Jen Wilkin

Mondays at 7 pm

Location: CLC Room 7

Facilitator: Polly Machen

What does it mean to be a citizen of the kingdom of Heaven? The Sermon on the Mount articulates what the life of a Christ follower should look like, asking us the same questions it posed to its original hearers: How should a disciple relate to sin? To others? To the Law? How does a disciple think, speak, and act? In this 9-session study, examine the words of Jesus in-depth as He challenges us to think differently about repentance, salvation, and sanctification.

Wednesday Evening Bible Study

It’s Not Supposed to Be This Way by Lysa TerKeurst

Wednesday evenings at 6:30 pm

Location: Room 102 (Hope Classroom)

Facilitator: Sarah Montgomery

What went wrong? Why did God let this happen?

Reality often ends up so very far from the life we long for, doesn’t it? Bible teacher Lysa TerKeurst deeply understands daily disappointments and life-altering loss. By walking through her own valley, she’s discovered that in God we can find unexpected strength as we wrestle well between our faith and feelings.

In this six-session video Bible study, Lysa offers a safe place to share your disappointments, fresh biblical insight to get you through painful situations, and life-giving perspectives for living in between Eden and eternity.

With solid truth, vulnerability and honest humor, Lysa will help you:

Find peace and hope for the future when you feel like your life is not what you expected.
Stop being pulled into the anxiety of disappointment by discovering how to better process unmet expectations and other painful situations.
Train yourself to recognize the three strategies of the enemy so you can stand strong and persevere through unsettling relationships and uncertain outcomes.
Discover the secret of being steadfast and not panicking when God actually does give you more than you can handle.
Shift your suspicion that God is cruel or unfair to the biblical assurance that God is protecting and preparing you.
Know how to encourage a friend and help them navigate hard realities with real help from God’s truth.
Sessions include:

The Birthplace of Disappointment
Living Between Two Gardens
Problems Placed On Us and Problems Within Us
The Four Steps of Restoration
When the Enemy Comes Against Us

Bible Study Fellowship

Each Thursday Morning at 9:30 am

Women today face a multitude of challenges. Many are overworked and in need of spiritual rest. Others struggle with insecurity, broken relationships, guilt, and loneliness. Countless women have found peace, comfort, hope, security, and answers to life’s big questions as they uncover the truth of God in the Bible.

Join Us Each Week
As a class member, you will spend time in personal study of the Scriptures each week. On the day or night of class, you will join other women in a small-group discussion of the lesson and learn from a teaching leader how the truths of Scripture can be applied to daily life. You will leave class with comprehensive lesson notes, which teach further on the passage you studied, and lesson questions for the following week.

Day classes have an added feature for registering adults — an outstanding curriculum for preschool children. In BSF evening classes, a school program challenges school-age students to grow in their Bible knowledge and love for God as they study the same passages as their registering adult.
