Can You Handle The Truth?

“Weeping may endure for a night, but joy comes in the morning.” – Psalm 30:5

Truth-tellers never argue with others about Jesus.

“Always be ready to give a defense to everyone who asks a reason for the hope that is in you.” – 1 Peter 3:15

“Always be ready to give a defense to everyone who asks a reason for the hope that is in you with gentleness and respect.“ – 1 Peter 3:15

Truth-tellers connect with others out of love.

“Instead, speaking the truth in love, we will in all things grow up into Him who is the Head, that is, Christ.” – Ephesians 4:15

The basics of God’s Kingdom:

  1. Today Jesus conquers sin/death and captures hearts.
  2. In the future, Jesus will destroy evil and fully establish His Kingdom.
  3. God’s Kingdom is not of this world, but is alive/well/working in our world.

Truth-tellers accept people as they are and offer an invitation.

  • An invitation to Salvation:       Living with Jesus. (on earth and for eternity)
  • An invitation to Sanctification: Living with godliness (like Christ with purpose)

Truth-tellers will increase their passion in two areas:

  1. A passion for truth.
  2. A passion for people.

Did Pilate believe Jesus?

“Pilate said to Him, “What is truth?” After he had said this, he went back outside to the Jews and told them, “I find no guilt in Him.” – John 18:38

“Pilate went out again and said to them, “See, I am bringing Him out to you that you may know that I find no guilt in Him.” – John 19:4

“When the chief priests and the officers saw Him, they cried out, “Crucify him, crucify him!” Pilate said to them, “Take Him yourselves and crucify Him, for I find no guilt in Him.” – John 19:6

“From then on Pilate sought to release Him, but the Jews cried out, “If you release this man, you are not Caesar’s friend.” – John 19:12

Can You Handle the Truth?

And just as it is appointed for man to die once, and after that comes judgment,” – Hebrews 9:27

“And just as it is appointed for man to die once, and after that comes judgment, 28 so Christ, having been offered once to bear the sins of many, will appear a second time, not to deal with sin but to save those who are eagerly waiting for Him.” – Hebrews 9:27-28
